Bob's Discount Furniture Sucks
Okay so the prices are good. I ordered and everything arrived fine. The customer service line is a BIG nightmare. Trying to get a human on the line sends you in a maze of menu's that are very limited and has no option to talk with a human.
This inadequate customer service line is poor judgment and can show that a company is scared of complaints and is not going to help you with any of those complaints. If I knew this before my purchase I would not of shopped at Bob's and expect that you exercise extreme caution before using Bob's furniture for your next purchase.
Update: So I had my sofa/couch for under 2 years and the top the the coach is starting to turn white. Unfortunately Bob's Goof proof protection plan is won't cover it because the terms are so limited it's worthless.

My wife and i purchased a bedroom set from Bob's, less then 3 weeks later the mattress fell right to the floor, I pulled it apart to fing the screws used were way to short to connect the frame support to the side rials. When i called their lousy customer support i was told it would be 3 weeks to get someone there. This is where my wife and infant were sleeping i told them. They couldnt care less, so i finally repaired it myself and then notified the BBB.
I recieved an email from BOBS offering me a $29.99 refund from my delivery and setup charge of $129.99. Tell you what BOB, keep it and buy your installers some longer screws!!!!

Wow. We were ready to buy a chair for our den. The Goof Proof plan seemes like a great deal. I don't expect the furniture to be Ethan Allsn, but wow you have really caused us to think again. I have enough pressure. The recliner we are replacing from Macys ended up with a broken spring and was a ton to replace. But I am not sure Bob's is the answer.

Went to the Worcester store in 2005 to buy a mattress set. We told the sales person that we wanted to buy one that we could take home that day. We choose the one we wanted - she told us it wasn't in stock. Choose another one and she said the same thing, finally a third one at which point she said "to be honest with you the only mattresses we have in stock our the ones in our clearance center." Foolishly (we should have left then) we checked out the mattresses in the clearance center and choose one. We choose the Bob's "Heavenly dream" model and they loaded up in our truck. I recall them putting a piece of cardboard over the name of the mattress which in hindsight I wish I had said or done something then. We get home the mattress and box spring were in plastic that had been cut- another huge red flag that perhaps it had been used or been a demo. Then I notice the mattress tag says "Bobs very Best"...a lower quality mattress than what we had purchased. This was clearly a BAIT AND SWITCH!!! And when I called Bob's customer service and the rep started to acknowledge that it sounded just like that our call was DISCONNECTED!!! Furthermore, not long after and this is worse than getting scammed- we discovered BED BUGS!!! PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE, stay FAR AWAY from BOB's. Dispicable company with even more repulsive business practices!!!

Have one of the sales manager in the store you purchase contact the service dept. if you purchase a memory foam mattress from them sometimes they come with that bad chemical smell that could last for weeks until it goes away completely. when you go to the store forget about the smell just say you are unhappy cause your mattress does not match your comfort its to plush or to firm just make an excuse and that you will like to re-select another type of mattress. there is a comfort policy on new mattress they should scheduled a pick up of the current mattress and bring you a new one. try the latex mattress is better and it will not stink like the other one. there is no extra charge for delivery if you already paid for it. they might be a price difference if you upgrade to a more expensive mattress. if you select a less expensive you get a store credit. sometimes is worth looking on clearance. But you will lose your warranty "not recommended" . try to never stain your mattress you will lose your warranty . I worked for Bob's for a few years , the prices are not bad compare to other stores. just have to know how to beat their system. Stay away from "goof proof" unless you buy a recliner. always use one of the damages listed as covered on the protection plan to request service, if something different be smart try to relate the damages to whats covered.

The furniture quality is bad, but the service is even worse... i ordered something from there once, and it 'never made it on the truck', as they told me. Apparently 7 days lead time isn't enough for their crack service team to fulfill an order that I paid for that very night. So I canceled the order and bought from Jordan's. Then, i began the two week battle of getting my refund. I ended up talking to the district sales manager and threatening to do a credit card chargeback because they 'forgot' twice to cancel my order. Funny.. every person I tell my story to also has a bad Bob's experience they know of...I will badmouth Bob's Discount furniture all the way to the grave. Maybe if that idiot Bob stopped making all those lame commercials and put the resources and effort into his infrastructure, he may have better success. When I buy furniture, I don't want to be sold like it's a used car.

We arrived from overseas in Sept 2011 with literally no furniture, so Bob's seemed like a good idea. I ordered the bedroom set for a Tuesday delivery. I called the Thursday before to reconfirm and gave them my cellphone number to update their records because they had the one from the temp accommodation on record. Delivery was supposed to be between 8.45 and 11.45am. At 12pm I have a voice mail saying delivery was attempted but no one was at the building. That was a lie as the leasing office was staffed since 8.30am and they reconfirmed no truck had shown up. I then called Bobs who had still my old phone number on record and therefore had failed to reach me in the morning. But they promised delivery on that night. At 4.45pm I called again. Yes, I would get my furniture today in the next 30min. At 6pm Bobs called me asking if I was still at my apartment; I confirmed but told them the delivery elevator would shut at 6.30pm. They confirmed, no problem, they'd be there in 10-15min. At 7pm I have another voice mail saying the crew was not able to make it so they won't deliver any more today.
Next thing is I call the contact centre. Wasting about $20 from my prepaid cellphone, finally after 30min going through the channels all the way up to the manager, she promised me delivery on the next day.
Needless to say I have no bed at this point at 8pm on Tuesday night, but that is clearly not Bob's problem. So I am arranging an air mattress for the night. Delivery is promised on the first truck on Wednesday morning and the contact centre manager promises to call me back with a delivery time. But surprise, she didn't.
At 9am on Wednesday morning I am calling Bobs again and am told, there is no scheduled delivery for me today. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had. I suggested that they put my stuff on another vehicle but that was declined. So air bed here I come for yet another night!
On Thursday morning my bedroom set finally arrives. It's in good condition but the experience with Bobs does not make up for it.
And the worst thing is that for all the hassle I am offered a $50 store credit and a delivery charges refund which I think is the least I can expect. The $50 store credit is totally worthless to me as I will never ever shop with Bobs again. The customer service was horrendous, there was no empathy from anyone for me having two bad nights on an air mattress and the incompetence of not being able to schedule the bed for the next day made me speechless. I was also house bound for 3 days but there is no compensation for that either.
I never bothered with the $50 credit and Bobs is dead to me.
