Bob's Discount Furniture Sucks
Okay so the prices are good. I ordered and everything arrived fine. The customer service line is a BIG nightmare. Trying to get a human on the line sends you in a maze of menu's that are very limited and has no option to talk with a human.
This inadequate customer service line is poor judgment and can show that a company is scared of complaints and is not going to help you with any of those complaints. If I knew this before my purchase I would not of shopped at Bob's and expect that you exercise extreme caution before using Bob's furniture for your next purchase.
Update: So I had my sofa/couch for under 2 years and the top the the coach is starting to turn white. Unfortunately Bob's Goof proof protection plan is won't cover it because the terms are so limited it's worthless.

Bob's furniture store are not very accomodating to the customers. I had occastion to try and purchase a TV console from Bob's. First no one would wait on us, then after we complained, they called a sales rep over who was rude and cold. Next we looked for someone else to assist us and there was none to be found. We finally asked a man who was changing furniture around and he got the sales manager for us. He again would not help us, as we advised that we needed this console asap. They would only give us a 2 week wait. Could they have given us a display? (none was found in the pit) They told us that we should look in a few days as more furniture is added to the pit everyday. If this is true then why couldn't they have tried to get us the console that we wanted. Anyway they appear to not care to make a customer satisfied or help in anyway. We found one at another store who was willing to work with us.

So anyways We're buying our new Sofa & Love seat elsewhere. Looks like we're going with the Ashley Brand.

This Spring I purchased a bedroom set from Bob’s Discount Furniture. After a week and a half later I noticed that my daughter and I were getting bitten by an insect. It never occurred to me that these bites were being caused by bed bug and that soon my apartment would be infested with them.
After 3 week of getting bitten and two visits to the pediatrician I was informed by my daughter’s doctor that the bites were most likely due to bedbugs.
I then proceeded to visit a hardware store and purchased $ 50 worth of products. After using the products the bed bug problem was confirmed. I never had this problem before, a family member requested I do some online research on other customers who had the same problem after purchasing from Bob’s. I then proceeded to do online research on bed bugs and on customers who had similar problems and I found the following same complaints:

After my research I was stunned to know that my hard earned money went to such a cruel scam. I contacted Bob’s and they informed me that the insurance I had purchased does not cover bedbugs. (Of course it does not, if it did, no one would purchase a thing from them)
After contacting Bob’s Customer Service, the Better Business Bureau and Bob’s cooperate office I received the following statement:
A Bob’s Corporate Liaison: Bed bugs are a nationwide problem that affects retailers, hotels, colleges, multiple dwelling units and many other public domains. Bob's Discount Furniture takes scheduled drastic measurements to ensure that our trucks, warehouses and merchandise are not infested with any type of bugs, rodents etc. For this reason as well as, the length of time between delivery of the furniture and the day the bugs were reported they are unable to exchange or provide a refund. They are not accepting my claim.
This is Bull Sh-t, if this was true why so many others have similar stories. I have spent hundreds of dollars on an exterminator, extermination products, cleaners, laundry etc. I have had to get rid of my daughter’s favorite toys, memorable belongings, furniture etc.
I’m emotionally drained, my daughter has developed migraine headaches and has been seen by a physician numerous of times due to this condition. It has been determined that the headaches are due to the products I am obligated to use in my apartment and on our daily clothing.
At this time I’m interested in joining with others customers who have had a similar experience. Please build the courage to voice your concerns and join together to do something about this. Let’s get what is owed to us, please join me.

You can't please all the people all the time. We bought a sofa, love seat and chair/ottoman.
5 years and the stuff is still great! Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I am writing this letter out of sheer frustration and disappointment with my recent purchase of the Rio bunk bed! My purchase was made at the Yonkers NY store on 5/8/2010. It was finally delivered after a month of waiting on 6/10/2010. My purchase was not delivered until 9:oo pm! I find that very late considering these beds are for children who should be already asleep at that hour! The delivery men set up the beds and left at 9:35 pm. I was pleased at the time that we finally had the beds and my children were happy as well!
Well, in the morning my 8 year old son (it was his 8th birthday that day) went up the ladder to get in the top bunk when all of the sudden he came crashing down with the mattress and slats to the bottom bunk! After many tears and a bruised up leg on my son I inspected the bed to find out why it came crashing down! It turns out that there were 4 bolts that were not put into the top rails of the bed causing the mattress to fall through! I immediately called customer service to explain what had just happened and the woman was very shocked that happened and we scheduled a date for a service call so the missing bolts could be installed. Our service date was for the 15th of June.
The service men came with the missing bolts and they discovered that there was a defect in the bed! The screw holes did not line up and they were very surprised that the installers did not tell us this and left our home knowing that this was dangerous and said that no one should have been up there at all!
Had to speak with cumstomer service once again....explain my whole story...The woman was very nice and tried to hunt down replacement parts for the bunk bed. She told me to give her my number and she would call me back in about an hour and let me know what she found. Sure enough an hour later it was her on the phone telling me she was going to go ahead and just send me a whole mew bed because she didnt feel comfortable giving me replacement parts! So here it is June 17th, new bunk bed will be here tomorrow! Hopefully this one will be fine but Im not banking on it!

If you buy a mattress out of the "pit", there is a very good chance the mattress has been used. What do you think they do with the comfort reselect mattresses? Take it from me I've seen it. Work there.

I BELIEVE !!!!!
We bought a BOB O PEDIC and ended up with BED BUGS !!!
Had to have come from them somehow!!!!!!!
The mattress is also damaged with consealed holes and now a "handle" ripped at the stitching. So I believe it was probably one of the 30 day trial or just pain return.
They also say they take "drastic measures to prevent bed bugs" BULL cause we got them from BOB"S
They won't take any responsibility. SHAME ON THEM !!!

BEWARE, BOB"S SELLS REUSED FURNITURE INVESTED WITH BEDBUG EGGS. I HAD THIS EXPERIENCE. EMAIL ME IF YOU HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE TO UNITE ON A POSSIBLE CLASS ACTION LAW SUITE.

Bob's gets away with selling crap because there is a demand for cheap crappy furniture. You want it, they will do whatever they need to do to sell it to you. As far as the gimmicks of Goof Proof and all that, the company is just trying to compete in the market and really they can't afford to give anyone replacements or warranties because they probably would go out of business fast if they did honor everything. Who in thier right mind who want to warranty crappy cheap anything, of course its going to break or rip? So of course they do want they can to ignore claims and warranties. Absolutely disgusting practices but probably true. Demand better quality and be willing to pay a bit more for it and you may quickly see Bob's and other junk dealers go out of business. We really need to start looking at what we are buying and where it is coming from. Everything comes at a price, you can't get a Discount item and expect it to be quality too. I don't have a lot of money but am willing to start with one large couch from a Eco-Friendly and higher quality furniture place and add to it when I can afford more. I'm no tree hugger but I just can't stand all the crap out there. I'd rather wait and spend just a bit more to buy long lasting and quality anything than go through the aggravation of dealing with cheap crap that falls apart. Well, that's my 2 cents. My wife an i bought a bedroom set from bobs in south attleboro store from a salesman nmaed ken, he was honest and did not oush any thing on us and i had to call him over to ask him ask questions about
the bedroom set very nice to buy, i alos bought a tv stand for my 42 inch flat tv anf is was great, i asked them to hold off from deliver the set until i was ready in a month and no problem on the date and time when thet delived it
the bedoom set is bulit to last and my loved it
it has been a year since we bought the set and very happy with it

Purchase a Sofa Sleeper - Sleeper ends up falling apart on the left side ripping new flooring & rip on cushion. So call repair guy comes out repairs the sleeper says in the next month the right side will fall apart & sews the cushion. Call Bob/s up to complain guy hangs up on me. 1 Weeks has gone by i'm still trying to contact them. They keep claiming someone will come out to check the floor.
Can they just get away with this kind of service? PS there is still a rip on the cushion.

I bought a bedroom set for my son in April. One week later the first of SEVEN attempted deliveries came. The pieces were rejected with the exception of the mattress. Each attempted delivery left me bewildered. Each time I had to take three hours off from work and had to spend a huge amount of time speaking with a customer care representative. The representatives were kind, but nothing was done the way they told me it would be. One even offered me a 25% discount once I received all the products and was happy with them. Unfortunately, Bob's could NEVER deliver.
One day the customer rep. stated that they would inspect each piece. Once the delivery person opened the boxes, the side panels of the furniture fell off! So much for quality!
At one point, I accepted two pieces with the stipulation that they would be swapped out. How foolish was I! They were never replaced, as BOBS CANNOT DELIVER QUALITY PRODUCT!
The delivery people took the two pieces out and destroyed a wall and a doorway at my house. Again, this is BOB's poor quality and shoddy practice. They are the most DECEPTIVE furniture company I have ever dealt with. I ended keeping only the mattress and am still trying to have BOB's finalize my bill so that I can pay them off and be forever done with them. They have been dragging their feet. Now they have offered me a $100 gift card. Why would I want a gift card from a furniture dealer who deceives many and never gets back to set things right for their customers. They only want your money and nothing more. I would suggest that you go to Ashley furniture where I went. Their service is second to none and their pricing is competitive. I cannot wait to see them put Bob's out of business. So if you are willing to lose pay, have your home damaged, be lied to, and have no one from the company ever get back to you, then shop at Bob's. If you believe that you deserve more, shop at Ashley's!

You dont need any protection plan from bobs other than stay away from them. my wife and I are on our third set of cushions from bobs. We had to pay for the last set, they hold up like crap they have no life in them anymore and this set is only five months old. I was told by bobs to purchase new ones because there is no warranty from the manfact and bobs would not help. they told me warranty time was from original delivery date(2006) one year. i bought them this year(april 2010) no warranty, not even for one day. thats crazy. brand new and warranty ended in 2007 for item purchased 2010. I have the dates right so dont scratch your head our warranty ended three years before the item was made

Worst experience of my life. True prices are low but the quality of its furniture,sales staff, customer service etc.. justify the low prices. We waited two months for our order to be completed. The back office is totaly incompetent. I would never recommend this store to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go to a quality furniture store. There is an old adage "You get what you pay for" This is true with BoBs.

Cheep production, bad manufacturing, Poor customer service. Was surprises me is that the NE Patriots have them as a sponsor. The faux Tempur pedic is just that, fake. After sleeping on it for less than a year, it developed memory of my backside. I now have a dent that will not fill out. Don't do it, Jordan's forever.

I had a similar issue with a leather couch that faded .. the goof proof plan is useless .. never again will I step foot in that dump.. but be happy in ythe thought that soon enough Bob will be out of business .. companies like that always are just a flash..

OK, so the repair guy just left.
He has been here before.
This is our 3rd HAMPTON RED SOFA, it had been repaired by him the week after it was in Our house.
The parts that we need could take up to 16 weeks, which is cutting it close to our 1 year since we ordered the set. THE HAMPTON RED SET. I still can't believe that I can't return both the sofa and love seat for 100%. I just told the customer care girl on the phone that it better not take 16weeks, I'm not waiting that long. Now I have to figure out if i want a refund, and find an entirely different set. oh and keeping in mind I get back 90% for the love seat.
