Bob's Discount Furniture Sucks
Okay so the prices are good. I ordered and everything arrived fine. The customer service line is a BIG nightmare. Trying to get a human on the line sends you in a maze of menu's that are very limited and has no option to talk with a human.
This inadequate customer service line is poor judgment and can show that a company is scared of complaints and is not going to help you with any of those complaints. If I knew this before my purchase I would not of shopped at Bob's and expect that you exercise extreme caution before using Bob's furniture for your next purchase.
Update: So I had my sofa/couch for under 2 years and the top the the coach is starting to turn white. Unfortunately Bob's Goof proof protection plan is won't cover it because the terms are so limited it's worthless.

ARROGANT AND INSULTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. When I told them the repairman stated I need a new cushion they said "did you get that on tape". Never again.

I am having problems with the sofa set that I purchased at Bob's. It has only been three years since I purchased my so called leather sofa set from Bob's and already it is falling apart. I initially had a problem with it last year. The seam on the arm rest started giving way and I called Bob about it. I was asked to fill up a form and send it to Goof proof- I had purchased a 5 year warranty. I was under the impression that Goof proof was a term used by Bob's for their warranty. I was wrong. Goof Proof is an independent company that contracts out to Bob's. When I explained to the rep from Goof proof about damage on the arm rest I was told that it was not covered and to read the fine print on the warranty. Sure enough the warranty states manufacture defects are not covered and that tears and rips next to seams are not covered. This is not what I was told by the Sales man at Bob's. He gave us to believe that everything and anything was covered. I was stupid not to read the fine print on the warranty. Infact if you read the terms and conditions of the warranty closely you will realise nothing essentially is covered. All that hype about everything is covered should not be believed.
My sofa now has got cracks and leather pealing all over. Bob uses very poor quality material to make their furniture and when they say they are selling cheap furniture they mean cheap in quality not in price. I have already started spreading the word about Bob's to my friends and family. Bob is not worth your valuable time and money. Shop else where.
After I called in about my sofa cracking and tearing I got a letter from Goof proof saying they don't cover it. I was not surprised as they responded similarly the last time I had an issue with my sofa set.
I have decided that I am not going to waste my valuable time and energy to try and get my problem resolved by Bob as I was not happy the first time I called them about an issue.
All I can do is spread the word that Bob's does not stand by their products and customer service is not part of their vocabulary. Bob sells substandard furniture and if you value your money don't spend it at Bob's. If they were so great how come they have so many complaints against them.
I will never ever buy anything again from Bob's; you shouldn't either!!!

We took delivery of a bedroom set from Bobs furniture store and we were never told that we would get delivery without the chest of drawers. I had to phone customer service to be told that its on a back order. Now I have a another problem the mattress sags and I have been getting backaches from day one and it has progressively got worse I telephone the customer service to be told that they have to get the mattress inspected and they would call me before 8pm on the 10/09 never got a phone call. Just phone them again and all the lady said she was sorry and someone is going to come out 10/11 at 945 to 1045 I explained that is no good to me as i have to be at work I was promise a phone call again to see if i can get someone to come out earlier I am still awaiting for their call. Where is the customer service these days I voice my complaint why cant they make an eception Im not making this up about my back the mattress sags when we are sleeping on it and all they kept saying they were sorry and not wanting to deal with the issue. Wish I had read the customers experience before i shopped there. NEVER AGAIN dont shop at BOBS!!!

We purchase a recliner and having the worst time dealing with the Goof Proof company and Bob's staff do not care. They just keep saying its an interdependent company and not them. The recliner is less then 2 years old and the frame is broken at the welds.

Just bought a sectional this past week 3-12-13 sat on the couch for 2 hours over the past day and a half...already the fabric/material has worn in..almost like someone slid across the fabric 100 MPH....paid 1300 with delivery and all..definitely pissed off and depending on how they take care of this issue, I will get my money back or just sue them. A day old couch should not be going to S*** so fast. Shoudl have spent 2500 or more at Raymour or Jennifer Convertibles..

Going through BS right now. Purchase our Power Bob sofa just under a year ago. Long story short, I had our grandbabies and son in law over. Somehow either a toy or his keys got jammed and pulled out from between cushions and caused 3 small punctures. Call in to the GOOF PROOF (Gaurdian)people and was denied claim because I didn't specifically tell them what happened and made the "assumption" it was the keys or
toys. Now waiting for the Liaison from Guardian to call me back on this claim. I will not purchase from BOB's again if they don't stand behind this claim. I was never given a contract from BOb's on the Goof Proof, I was never given the proper Leather cleaner instead i was given a box of Wood Polish and Fabric cleaner because they ran out of the leather cleaner which was suppose to have a goof Proof card inside explaining what they cover. I've talked to 6 people total so far associated with BOB's and now will wait for a Liaison to contact me thanks to the Manager over at Bob's in Seabrook, NH. Hopefully this will get settled however I'm not holding my breath but will be holding my money next time.

Just stay away from this place. They take your money and time and they give you nothing but HARD TIME. your nightmare starts the day you sign the paper. Starts with issues with delivery, delays and so on and end with the service that they do not provide although you paid extra for their useless "Goof Proof" protection plan that does not protect anything when you need it. just take my word and go somewhere else and pick up your furniture.

Purchased a bed in the e-pit. Super excited because I really liked the style and detailing. This was my first time purchasing from Bobs Discount. Delays in delivery due to distributor became a nightmare. "nothing in warehouse here, shipping from Virginia, will be in next truck" Customer service promised to call for new delivery dates. After 3 weeks waiting, I called Bob's Customer service line- its is just a ring around the rosy- a voice messaging system saying dial this number and that number with no representative to speak to. When finally reached a representative, I asked when the bed will becoming. I paid for the product, where is it? She became snippy and said another 2 to 3 weeks. I could not sleep on my couch anymore. I canceled my order and demanded a full refund. I will never shop at bob's discount again. I have never had a issue purchasing furniture from jordans or bernieandphyls. In fact, even walmart has better delivery service than these clowns. Save yourself a headache and sleep. Don't fall for Bob's commercial jester.

So all these negative post but I have a positive. Bobs delivered my furniture on time and the deliverers where courteous and nice. They put everything together except the bed as I was in the middle of redoing my floor. The furniture is cheap but what do you people want when you pay so little for something. if you want strong furniture that will last 25 years you need to go to a high end store but trust me you will pay!!! Back in 85 i paid 3500 for my set that lasted 20 years with no issues the last few years was fixing stuff but my son now has the bed and it is still in good shape. this Bobs set only cost me 1600 with all said and done so I don't expect it to last 25 years! but you get what you pay for...

My coach and table fell apart within a year. I did get goof proof which is useless. they are rude basically u have to lie about how things happen or they wont cover it. I basically was told that when I called bobs. they bobs crew in ny is very nice they try n do what they can and aren't rude. but between the crappyness of the furniture and the rude goof proof im over it.. I know they were cheap but its what I was able to afford, and ill know hopefully soon if im gona be able to get a new couch I pray they don't try n fix something that's clearly not fixable. had a bobs guy over here today to tighten my wobbly cocktail table which is gona be wobbly again after a week wood chipped off the table since im sending in claims to goof proof I thought I may mention I found the wood on the floor today.. she pretty much said sounds like the bob technician did it which means they aren't responsible. if I purchased the goof proof plan it shouldn't matter who does what or when it happens it should be covered. all I can tell people is I would never buy from bobs again , its cheap yes but im most likely gona have to replace a couch and a table if they don't. and im gona be spending the same money if not more if I just would have initially bought better furniture. so basically I hate bobs

On another note anything that incurs to ur stuff just say you had people over and u woke up and noticed the damage. even if u acquired stains on your tabletops a week into owning it 2 years ago. lie or they wont cover it. anything that "happens" has to occur within 30 days of u calling goof proof. I am not much of a liar but would have if I would have known this before. the bobs in westbury ny have a very nice staff and willing to help.. the problem is half ur table will be covered by bobs and the other half will be the goof proof which makes things weird and confusing..

Yup, just got my Goof proof claim denied because they said I had to buy a separate leather care kit that nobody mentioned before. I used the cleaning kit they provided and yet the leather still cracked and peeled. Never again will I buy from that scam company.

Went to Bob's Discount Furniture .. Picked out a nice couch .. Couldn't get it in the house .. So we brought it back .. Then I get a bill .. I call and remind them we had to cancel the couch idea .. They remind me I picked up the couch and brought it home .. so I own it .. Bringing it back, only gets you store credit .. Pick something else out .. Really !! I owe the price of the couch no matter what !! ?? Great Store Policy .. Read the paperwork, people !! I have to pay Bob's $449.00 for a couch I can't sit on ( unless I go to the store) Also .. check the web .. it's loaded with Bob Horror Stories !!

John said "try the latex mattress is better and it will not stink like the other one." I just bought the latex top queen mattress. Last night was its first in my home. It smelled HORRIBLE. The chemical smell kept me awake. Maybe it was formaldehyde. VERY scary. I am not a corpse yet but I might be if I have to keep sleeping on this.

Save your money and go with a professional and reputable furniture store. I am unhappy as well as disappointed with Bob's. One would think a delivery of furniture would be effortless. That unfortunately is not the case. We, the average working “Joe” made Bobs millions yet I am positive he would not furnish his own home with his products. I could go on and on but we are all experiencing similar issues and Bob’s does not care. BTW if you are considering calling Christine Simmons at the number given it will take you back to the Customer Care line. Good Luck - you'll need it.
