The Consumer Product Safety Commission's National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) offers a database from a sample of 100 hospital emergency rooms in the United States and its territories. Patient information is collected from NEISS hospitals for every emergency visit involving an injury associated with consumer products.

Search the Database

Besides reading about the strange ways people hurt themselves this database can also be used to find the most dangerous sport by counting the results for each sport:

I just saw that a second runner died after running the New York City ING marathon. There were about 38,000 people who ran in the race in NYC. I think this makes running the marathon more dangerous than parachuting. Of 2.2 million jumps by parachuters there were only 18 reported deaths according to the US Parachute Association Going by these statistics alone you are 15 times more likely to die from running in a marathon then by jumping out of a airplane.

Like alot of people I don't have dental insurance. My office is too small for it to be worth the cost for my boss. Dental insurance is a huge expense and could cost $1,000's.

What can you do if you don't have dental insurance?
Bargain with your dentist.

There are dental plans available which essentially say that you will go to a specific dentist if they offer you discounted rates. This helps you because you are not stuck paying huge rates and helps the dentist because the gain referrals.

How much?
I am single and pay $115/ year for my dental plan. There are family plans available for $45 or so dollars extra. That means you can sign up your whole family for less than $160.

How much do I save?
You save about 50% on semi-annual checkups upto 30%-50% on all other expenses.

How does it work?
You will receive an ID card. Show that ID card to your participating dentist and the dentist will automatically apply the discounted rates to your bills. You do not need to wait for reimbursements you are billed the discounted rates..

How long do I need to wait to use it?
You can start to use your plan immediately after activation (1-3 business days).

I've been thin all my life. And by now, since I am 26 years of age, am tolerable to the fact that I will never be of average weight but slightly less. A lot of people made riches off publishing their guide to weight loss and often people encourage me to do the same. I've meant for years to do so however have come to a block in the road on all occasions. However I do now know the recipe and will now write it here for free without any published book title "Tjs Diet" or ever clever naming scheme. The secret to thinness is to fidget for whatever worth. Never stay still.. if you sitting move you are leg up and down in a fast uncontrallable motion ...if you are waiting for company to arrive walk around your house in circles to they arrive...if you are sleeping, move around the bed so much that when you wake your sheets are no longer on the bed... chew your pens to the ink fills your mouth... when you are nervous have your hands tremble in an uncontrollable fashion so when your passing a drink to a friend the drink splashes to the ground... make constants trips to the fridge open it, see nothing you like and close the fridge, open again and repeat just to close again and take nothing...

These are some of the things I do every day without noticing. These are the things I think make it impossible to gain weight. Unfortunetely for those who do not fidget I do not beleive that controlable fidgeting is a weight loss possibility.

I'll try to conitinue when I'm sober...

Girls who do not wash their hands It took me a long time to figure out that like boys, girls poop too, however I just noticed that like boys, girls do not wash their hands after they go to the bathroom. I am not saying that it's okay for guys not to wash their hands but I think it's especially gross for girls to engage in this unhealthy behavior. And if you're not going to wash your hands at least wait to the toilet flushes before you exit. A toilet flush and the door opening is a dead give away that you do not wash your hands, and I'd rather not know. Here's a tip don't just wash your hands after the bathroom, wash your hands every chance you get, especially before eating and maybe you won;t get sick so much. I have not been sick in 3 years and haven't been to a docter in 5 years.
