Wachovia Bank Sucks
Wachovia is business model is the worst I ever seen. They are worst than the IRS, in that like to "tax" the poor by only charging brokerage accounts with minimal balances an annual fee.
Have a brokerage account that had less than $10,000 balance? Did you not Generate them any commmission during the year? If not, than you may get charged $85/year. Basically they are charging you money to let your money sit with them. Wachovia Bank is one of the biggest banks in the world. They must have grown too big because they no longer want to do business with the "little folks". You will notice this when dealing with their customer service and viewing their account fee schedules. They come up with new ways to charge people before coming up with better ways to do business with people. I hate companies that have no care for customer satisfaction.
Update 5/26/09 --
Just got a really pushy telemarketer calling from 1-866-228-8505 trying to sell me some health plan from "Wachovia". The person had more than two rebuttals which is very poor telemarketing and wouldn't let me speak to ask to get off the calling list. This puts a bigger damper on the Wachovia image and Wells Fargo (who now owns Wachovia). The telemarketer left the number 1-866-215-3464 to call if I had any other questions. I am not sure if this was actually Wachovia (I really hope it's not) but they need to do something to stop it.

I was doing business with wacovia when it was First union.Always had a good business relation ship with W (Wachovia) about 3 years ago they started down hill,there in a free fall now with customer service.Mind you my wife and i have most of our saveings,safe deposit box,home eq,loan,wife direct deposit from work,and her savings account.Below is just the highlights of how W lost my business
had free safe deposit box free of charge,started charging me with no notice,then took it out of my daughters account!great family argument when she got that statement!Buy the way the safe deposit box is soon to be "was"at the branch at jasper street,clearwater,florida,a drab and out dated place that i know that the box safe is 95% empty!!!!
had $100k home eq loan that dropped to $43,257.18 exactly what i owed at the time

THE GRAND FINALLY WAS YESTERDAY At the Ulmerton and 49st branch said nsf funds in checking account,so they froze my account,get this I had a check from LKQ Parts yard where my towing company sell cars.this check is made out to me personally,and computer Generated funds with a zero percent chance of bouncing!!! I have cashed over 1000 checks,yes one thousand checks from them thru wachovia in the last 4 years!!!! they would not cash the check even though i told them that i was handing the cash right back to them to square the NSF problem!I'M not lying!had to go to BANK OF AMERICA to cash the check,went back to W to deposit the cash [at] the ATM but it was out of order!I gave up.
I Have a Friend Steve Foley with Met Life Securities that has wanted my business for some time.
as of 02/24/2011 i am pulling the following from wachovia:
$100 k annuity
APPOX $370k from assorted 401k
wife's personal savings $25k
wife's automatic pay deposit from BMC
closing both business and personal account
you can have that safe deposit box back by the way,ps.be careful [at] the jasper location,entry door& ATM in the back out of sight in bad area I happen to know that customers have been robbed there!
O but good news wacovia!even though you will no longer electric debot my home eq lone payment,i will be keeping that loan with you,I will be wighting a reg check form my new bank,Sonovis bank (free atm at all Publixes) that technically offers my family about 750 + banking locations in Florida alone!!! when ever i feel like it!make you have to start litigation then ill run in with a check!!!!p.s. this is true just check it out!!

Wachovia in NY used to be decent but they're being taken over by WELLS FARGO and they are scammers! Have a problem and you can contact their Complaint Resolution Consultant David Clement at 314-955-2003. He works for Wells Fargo, so of course they can do no wrong! You'd have to be crazy to bank at WELLS FARGO, or deal with their investing dept.

I tried to deposit money into my daughter's account. They wouldn't do it because they were going to have to look the account number up, and told me that this would verify to me that she has a valid account...Duh!?!?!?

Wachovia does suck....bad...dont bank there pleaseeee... i just opened a account with them not to long ago and the lady that helped me gave me my direct deposited form for my jobs. But heres the thing, she gave me the wrong account numbers on my paper, so now my checks from both jobs is delayed and i have no money! funny huh

Do not put money in a POD (pay on death) account with Wachovia! My dad had a POD account, payable to me the executor of his estate and his wife. The bank gave all the money to his wife, and wouldn't give me any information from the account.

So true about the company man david clement-- he ignores calls, when confronted withe the scams of the advisors simply states he does not know what happened. an advisor made thousands on me for lousy advice then on top of that tried to rob me in inflated trading fees----the advosor hid for the next two months and after 20 calls I reached his regional manager who informed me 6 weeks later that if you make a complaint--that advisor can not speak to you. I gave this crappy wells fargo adviros half a million to invest at exhorbitant fees and they hid over 549.00. NEVER invest with wells fargo advisors--- This Clement took 2 months to refund some of my funds and with no apologies and no accomodations still has not addressed the other infractions and the fact that my accounts including 250,00.00 in annuities is without an advisor. They showed their colors and I am filing charges with Finra. Such disrespect, discourtesy to innocent customers. Even the general release I signed was incorrect and he insists a document that has incorrect numbers and mistakes on it is acceptable. The funds they refunded bounced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They have no accountability and believe treating loyal custtomers who were stupid enough to invest with them should be bullied, ignored or attempted to be intimidated by silence or a condescending attitude. I was told that an advisor is allowed to give advise and then abandon the account, because the fee was rightly disputed. I am still dealing with trying ti get calls returned in the mysterious resolution department. I resolve to stand up and make wells fargo advisors accountable to the people they apparantly are trying to "rip the face off of." Don't ever trust a wells fargo advisor, in my opinion, nor allow yourself to allow them to get off the hook of accountability. If they could not sell another high commission item then they did not want to deal with a customer. Wow, where are the ethics, wells fargo advisors????? I am resolved, dear resolution dept., to make you accountable for the misdeeds on the part of wells fargo advisors. I have some advice for the wells fargo advisors--stop selling high end annuities under false promises, stop making calls on individual stocks you have no knowledge of, stop hiding when a problem with inappropriate fees arise, fulfill the promises of advice after high commission vehicles are purchased through you. Please learn from the great losses I have had due to this wells fargo advisory team. Trust yourself or go to a financial planner with one time fees and TRUE advice not continual entreaties to purchase more vehicles to make unearned commissions.

I totally agree. They memorize some script about customer service, etc. and all that vernacular is just BS. I despise their two faced nonsense.

Lee Blackwell,wells fargo advisor,lied to me for years saying I had no guarantee on annuity, but found out I had a GMIB which he canceled without my knowledge. David Clement is SO deceitful, he will lie, cheat, & steal to make sure Wells Fargo doesn't have to pay anything. Finra is a joke. They won't believe the investor, only the advisor. They told me advisor doesn't need my signature to cancel a contract in my name that had a GMIB on it which he told me I didn't have. These people are so unscrupulous

Here is a comment I sent to Wachovia after I tried to get a roll of quarters to do my laundry:
You are just another greedy banking institution run by dirt bags. I stopped into a branch to get some quarters to do my laundry and the idiot teller told me, with a stupid customer service style smile, I needed an account to do that. Are you people fricking kidding me?!!!! This is America! It's a sad day when crap like this happens. What's so wrong with asking for change at a BANK?!! You have all the money dolts!!! Your company management reeks of sheer obscene greed! I'll be sure to let everyone I know how you treated me. I hold dirt bag ambulance chasing lawyers and used car salesmen in higher regard!
And we tax payer had to bail this greedy crap industry out!!! The banking industry as a whole is a scam. All you care about is how many ways can we stick it to the customer!
