This is a wide spread job scam. Most of the time the scammers gets your email address from ads placed on Craigslist. Avoid any association with this scam and do not respond to any emails from HL Plastics If you already sent an email with your information they will promptly send you check to deposit once your job application is "accepted". Do not cash any checks received from the this "job". The scammers are issuing fraudulent checks using accounts of real companies. Once the bank finds out the the checks are fake or fraudulent they will reverse the deposit. Even know the money may show in your account initially, it will soon be taken out.
If you received a scam from a different company please forward the scam to:
How do I spot a job scam?
1.) The message is for a position that you did not apply for
2.) The message is from or asking for a reply to an email address from a free email provider (ie: @yahoo.com, @gmail.com)
3.)The position is for a work at home job. Let's get real here most of these positions are hard to come by.
4.) The message provides no phone and/or no mailing address
5.) The company does not have a website or the website was created in the last year. Do a whois lookup to see when a domain was created.
6.) The job has few qualifications
7.) The message is written with poor english
8.) A google search for the company finds little or no history for the company
*** This list is not all inclusive. Remember if you have to ask yourself if it's a scam it probably is!
What should I do if I provided my information to scammers?
- Do not respond to further communications.
- If you sent bank Information: Call your bank immediately and tell them what happened. They should be able to change your account number or cancel your account.
- If you are still concerned you might want to enroll in credit monitoring such as LifeLock Identity Theft Prevention
- You can also file a claim with The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). They are probably overloaded with these types of claim though, so I would not expect an individual response. You can also contact the Better Business Bureau or your states attorney general's office
- Post a comment below with any information you have on this scam to inform other people to try and avoid any future victims. Post the email you received with exact wording if different from original posted so when people search for terms they find this warning.

TOTAL SCAM! I THANK YOU & GOD FOR THIS BLOG!!! I got a request for more information about myself, and yet, all I had asked of them, prior to sending them my resume, was a location for the job posting. They responded to my request for a location by telling me that I was qualified, and offered the job details, etc. But still I looked them up and here you are. Thank you for your highly valuable service to the public. Too bad you don't work for CraigsList, eh? With all the people they must have on the payroll, it's NOBODY's job to watch for the scammers???!!! That's a shame and an outrage.
THANK YOU for you! L, G

Yes I have gotten through since i need a job so bad. They sent me a check, it just did not feel right, so I googled them and here I am reading your post. I called the FBI and they told me to destroy the check, and not to be in contact with them. They keep calling me, and emailing me. Even though they now know the FBI gets everything that they send me.

Saturday July 25, 2009 @ 10:55 AM
Thanks for posting this. I got the same email at 12:30 in the morning. The position was also for a different job that I saw on Craigslist. Maybe Craigslist should be more selective who they take ads for. So everyone please watch out for theses bottom feeders. Good Luck

I received an E-mail not from HL plastics but from Mediaperformeances France from Simone Rejandra and from Acelin Yannik. They wanted me to cash checks and keep 10% of the money and send them the money thru Western Union. I reply back to them and told them that I was not going to cash the checks and I was going to send them back. When I did that they sended me another e-mail intimidating telling me that they were going to call their lawyers if I did not cash the checks for them. I now that it was unfortunately that I sended my info but now I know that it was just scam, and never give out your info to anyone luckily I never gave my bank info. It sad to see people that try to take advantage of others like this. My e-mails were the same as Claudia from July 11th.
Saturday July 25, 2009 @ 09:50 PM
Thank God I searched this out because my boyfriend was like that sounds like a scam and bothering me and blah blah blah and im trying to prove him wrong and search it up in google and gt proven wrong it is a scam...
thank god!....
Sunday July 26, 2009 @ 01:36 AM
I knew it was too good to sound true. My experience was a bit different though. I got the email about the info and I responded with questions about the company. One thing I noticed was the initial email was grammatically correct, for the most part, and the reply to my reply was written horribly. This was one of the several warning signs along with no phone number, the company email address and the oh so common name. I will be sure to mark that craigslist ad as a scam and send him a email telling him that I'm no fool.I know when things seem really easy, that there has got to be something about it that I don't want apart of.
Sunday July 26, 2009 @ 09:23 PM
Hi, I just received an email from them also after submitting resumes on Craigslist also. I knew it was a scam immediately when they want to pay you 2000-2200 for 3-4 hours of work each day and that you would be depositing checks into your own bank account.
Here is a copy of what I received below:
