As You will read they are very fast and keen on sending you emails trying to reassure you that this job is legit, But after making mistakes of my own and not doing thorough research into the company i feel stupid and pissed off about people who post to craigslist when i desperately need money. I hope that with every new person who they get in contact with will do the following:
1. don't believe anything that they tell you
2. if they send you a check, contact your bank, contact the company, report that there has been a fraudulant check sent to you because of a ad on craigslist.
3. post it on a blog somewhere so people like you and i will be able to find these scams more easily.
4. relax, its happens to more people than you might think.
5. do anything that you can to help stop these people

Detailed Job Description – Account Receivable Clerk

The Company name is HL Plastics. Formed in 1974, HL Plastics has established a strong reputation as a manufacturer and designer of technical trade extrusions for a number of industries. Using these base skills, we have expanded our offering over the years to include a range of specialist products including:

- Domestic fencing and decking
- Caravan verandahs and sundecks
- Roof walkways and safety decking
- Plastic Piling

The primary goal of the Account Receivable Clerk is to provide local customer assistant to our clients within North America. You will be assisting our clients within North America, the assistance to be provided will include: payment collections and customer service.The HR Managers checked your resume and you have been picked as one of our possible candidates for Accounts Receivable Manager due to some factors of the Company, Your primary task would be receiving payments for our company and Customers. We are about to open a representative offices or authorized sales centers in some local city in the States. Your Accounts Receivable Clerk duty would be that you become our Account Receivable Manager (ARM) and its a contract -to-hire position which is a 1 month trial after which the position is made full time .Please be advised that we need total dedication for the job.

Your duties will include: Collecting Local Payments

When a buyer in United States decides to purchase an item through an online auction from our sellers he has the following payment options:pay pal, international wire transfer, international check, or local wire transfer. The quickest option of these is local wire transferring. Local wire transfers are the option that the sales support representative will provide to the clients.

- Managing Data

Along with the payments received from buyers you will be receiving details for these sales. These details will include items sold, price, and buyer's information. You are to file and maintain these purchasing records and transactions.

- Forwarding of the Payments

Once you receive each payment you will be keeping 10% as commission and forwarding the rest to the seller or representative, whose information will be provided prior each transaction. It is crucial to complete forwarding of the payments in a time efficient manner.

- Fees, and Transferring Procedures

All fees are covered by the company. The fees for transferring are simply deducted from the payments received. No client will contact you during initial stage of the trial period. After three weeks of the trial period you will begin to have contact with the buyers via email in regards to collection of the payments. For the first three weeks you will simply receive all of the transferring details, and payments, along with step by step guidance from your supervisor. You will be forwarding the received payments by wire transfer.

Salary:

During the trial period, you will be paid 1,500USD per month while working on average 3-4hours per day, plus 10% commission from every payment received and forwarded. The salary will be sent in the form of wire transfer directly to your account. After the trial period your base pay salary will go up to 1,800USD per month, plus 10% commission.

I got the same email today, and I felt that something wasn't right about being hired without an interview, they wanted my information and yet I had sent them a resume which seemed odd. The deal was too good to be true, so I thought of googling the company. Thanks for this blog.

Same thing happened to me, i provided my info but no banking info. i replied after reading it was a work at home position but they sent me stuff anyways. i did not reply. the govt intercepted the package before it got to me luckily. i got fooled!

I just got an email from them at 3:05 am stating I was hired for the Data Entry Clerk Position. Everything from the other postings I read matched the exact email that was sent to me. If I hadn't read this I probably would've sent them my info just because I'm desperate for money but I don't think i would've cashed any stupid check they sent me, especially if it looks all fake like what everybody is describing it looks like. But I'm not that desperate that I wouldn't research it first. I mean come on, who hires you at 3:05 am and are willing to trust you with that amount of money. With all of these scams going around these days why wouldn't you research something like that first, I mean they're asking you to go and cash a check at your personal bank and then wire the excess to them, hello, doesn't that sound a lil fishy? I think from now on, anyone who gets the email should respond by telling the company that the cops have been alerted and all their information is in their hands now just to scare them off, if you tell them to F OFF, just remember, they have your resume and most people have personal info on there, you wouldn't want them to retaliate in anyway because you had to give them your 2 cents. Anyways, I hope noone believes this scam and have enough sense to look at this site first. Alert your friends and family as well that are looking for jobs on Craigslist. It may save your loved ones time and money.

OMG, I just received another scam email for a job that I applied for yesterday on Craigslist as well. The job was titled "Need help immediately" or something like that. The duties were to help with personal shopping and to receive packages at your house. It sounded legit so I applied. I just received this email back from him stating I got the job but he's in Australia so there'll be no interview and if he were to write me a check, what name should appear on the money, along with some other BS you're about to read (note how similar it looks to the 2nd email from the HL Plastics scammers-I'll show you both):

#1 - Email from Australia guy:

Hello,
Where are you located? I would love to meet up with you to
talk about this job but I am currently away on business. I am in
Australia so there will be no interview. I will prepay you in advance
to do my shopping. I will also have my mails and packages forwarded to
your address. If you will be unable to stay at your house to get my
mails, I can have it shipped to a post office near you and then you
can pick it up at your convenience. When you get my mails/packages;
you are required to mail them to where I want them mailed to. You
don't have to put money out of your pocket, all you have to do is
have packages shipped to your house and do my shopping. You are
allowed to open the packages to reveal its content. The content of
the packages are computer and electronics, clothing business and
personal letters. All expenses and taxes will be covered by me. You
will work between 15 and 20hrs a month. How much will you charge per
month? I will pay $500.00. That is not a bad offer is it? I need your
service because I am constantly out of town. I work in real estate and
I own an Art Gallery in Australia. I will return to USA in January so
this process will be on going till then. If you don't mind, I will
meet up with you when I return and then we can talk about the
possibility of making this long term. Well, let me know if you are
able to handle the position. Hope to hear I will email you the list

#2 - Email from HL Plastics Scammers:

There were 4 things that tipped me off with the Australia guy's email that alerted me this is fake. First of all, he's in Australia so he can't interview me, BS. Second, he conveniently sent me this email right around the same time I got the HL plastics email around 3-4 am. Third, at the end of both emails the way they ask for my contact info is almost in the exact same order and typed in the exact same way. And last, it was sent from a Gmail email address which is what seems to be the scammers choice of email because the HL plastics guy was also a Gmail email address. I'm going to tell this guy the same thing I told the HL plastics guy, "Your scam and email has been reported to the police and they are going to investigate the S out of you. Your info is now in their hands. Maybe you should have the police cash your check so they can send it to you in prison." I'm going to report both emails to the police station in the morning, maybe there's already an ongoing investigation and my emails can be of help to them. To all of you, please don't be stupid and if this happens to you, come here and post your experience because it could be a new scam just like the one I just received and you really could save someone out there alot of time and money.

I responded with my resume last week on Craigslist not knowing it was a scam. Just heard back from them, and I'm glad I found this site!

Same here guys, this scam is no joke. I received the email that looked almost identical to this. I heard back from there the VERY next day after sending in my resume and forwarded their email to two of my business savvy friends for review. They both said it sounded shady and after doing a Google search, here I am on your page! Thanks for making this webpage public guys, trust me, people are reading this even if they don't post!!
