Realtytrac.com Sucks
- Why do they suck?
- They say an agent will contact you in 24 hours but no one ever does
- They're listings are out of date and a lot of houses have already been sold
- They prank call you (see below)
- They auto bill your credit card ($49/month) and refuse legitimate cause for refunds
- They also offer no contact information for customer service for non members.

I encourage anyone who has been a victim of this prank calling to file a report with the the National Do Not Call Registry: https://www.donotcall.gov/ or with the FBI internet crime division http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx
So here's to Realty Trac (realtytrac.com) to gaining a place on the TJShome.com hall of shame.
EDIT: Fixed Spelling Reatlytrac.com =/ Realtytrac.com

I was told that they have an auto-dial service that sometimes does not remove cancelled members so it automatically dials numbers for customers. they have great customer service there from the years ive been a customer. I suggest that consumers like ourselves stay polite to ppl who can help is out.

They are now offering and 85% off sale on their 1 or 3 month membership. I was about to sign up until I stumbled upon this site.

Well, looks like another internet rip-off site. Glad to have seen this thread. There are plenty of FREE sites that offer more reliable information on foreclosures.

Thanks for the warning. I did not like their website format but felt I am getting to cynical. They must be OK because they are all over the place. So I did a quick search just to verify. I thank everyone who has posted their advice here. I am beholding to you.

Wow...and to think Money Magazine suggested it's readers consider trying them (October 2011). I'm sure there has got to be some redeeming value in the service for them to do so. Wonder what they know that so many others don't? don't?

RealtyTrac is a useless website and a harmful to your property. I paid and got a 3month subscription. I found that the address I entered for credit card charge while subscription, RealtyTrac uses to list that address property as a Foreclosure or a Bank owned REO. I paid out my home but they listed my property as a Bank REO. I called them and notified but they refused to do it immediately. It takes 3-5 days to take out from the listing. I am upset.

Charged me $49.95 per month for 11 months when I had not used their service once during that time frame. I caught the charges at tax time auditing and gave them a call. The person checked their records and agreed I had not accessed their website and refused to admit that they could have bungled my cancellation which must be done over the phone. He stated their policy is very clear about refunds and I had checked that I had read it. Upon my inquiry he stated that he ALWAYS read the entire verbiage of any website or business he signs up for. They have a BBB logo on their homepage, I have filed a complaint.

The American Way has become extremely prevalent in these times. I recommend being watchful & dubious in all online offerings. I really wonder if we are ever going to get back to dealing fairly & honestly....

Was just about to go to this site...so glad I got to see what other people went through! Thanks for the heads up and the headache it could have cause me!!!

Thanks for the post and the thread, I was considering signing up and actually paying them....for almost nothing from the sound of it. Sometimes taking the time to complain is a public service.

This company is crooked! Do not Sign up for the free trial! They billed my credit card right away after the free 7 day trial was over, I called to cancel and asked for the $50 fee to be reversed and they refused. I plan to contact my credit card company to fight the charges and the California attorney generals office to report this company.

Just had the same experience. I tried really hard to cancel online, as the email instructed, but it lead nowhere. I just assumed i didn't need to do more since I clicked the cancel link. I saw it on my bill and called - they said they can't reverse the charge, even though i didn't use it. That site was a piece of crap and the homes weren't really even for sale! realtytrac seriously does suck.

There was never anyone on the bogus phone line to talk to, and amex said realty trac were a 'grave dancer' website. and there is now nowhere to cancel online - pretty neat!
so i sent them an e-mail asking them to cancel, and told them i'd informed amex that i wanted to cancel. now we wait and see what they try to do...
