Realtytrac.com Sucks
- Why do they suck?
- They say an agent will contact you in 24 hours but no one ever does
- They're listings are out of date and a lot of houses have already been sold
- They prank call you (see below)
- They auto bill your credit card ($49/month) and refuse legitimate cause for refunds
- They also offer no contact information for customer service for non members.

I encourage anyone who has been a victim of this prank calling to file a report with the the National Do Not Call Registry: https://www.donotcall.gov/ or with the FBI internet crime division http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx
So here's to Realty Trac (realtytrac.com) to gaining a place on the TJShome.com hall of shame.
EDIT: Fixed Spelling Reatlytrac.com =/ Realtytrac.com

Realty Trac and Foreclosure Radar suffer similar problems with regard to their data. Both admit to posting data a week or more old. Yes, they post daily, but their daily posts are of Notices of Trustee Sales that recorded over a week prior in the county records.
Small investors and families seeking foreclosure data from either source get data which is a few days before the auction, leaving little time to assess the property condition regarding the property taxes, owner's bankruptcy status, senior liens on the land, zoning and use restrictions, and physical condition of the unit, not to mention arranging for the required cashiers check to be ready from their bank.
Furthermore, each service pull bad lien data from their data providers which often mispost, fail to post or otherwise inaccurately reflect prior liens in superior positions.
Finally, each provider tends to miss a number of foreclosures that occur due to data input errors that they should account for but fail to do so.

Zip Realty sucks, I should know I once worked for them. Their rebate program only robs money from the agents who work hard and should not have to dish out money from their commissions to pay for the rebate.

My 149.95 problem, I just got off of the phone with them, RT,they seem so nice, but are cunning. It seems that many people have an issue with a company the likes of this that maybe they should be investigated, and broadcasted on a 20/20 segment or CNN's Keeping them honest. Everyone wants to complain about the economy but it seems that the crooks in business are no different than the ones that elected every 2 or 4 years.

[at]online shopper:
The website is useless - why even sign up for free. Why take a chance - you are right, sometimes we forget to cancel and that is how they get your money. They know their website is useless. All listings are really really old; more information is available for free on the web than provided by the websites so these crooks know that once people find that out they will want to cancel; but some people will forget to cancel and they will have made their money. DON'T SIGN UP - SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Thanks for the insight. I've been looking for a good foreclosure listings site and also believe realtytrac is no good. there all over the news getting quoted but their listings suck. it's ok to pay for listings you can't get on MLS, and there are better alternatives out there for foreclosure listings. but stay away from realtytrac

I didn't "research" Realty Trac's reliablility before giving my info and now I'm feeling very uncomfortable. I did NOT start the free trial... but they still have my info. Yikes!!
Wednesday March 9, 2011 @ 05:49 PM
I did the free trial and then canceled in time. No problem. Just saying.
Sunday March 27, 2011 @ 03:54 PM
Thank you! I was just about to give them credit card# for free trial when I decided to investigate them a little first in another tab. Yikes! That was close. I can hear it now, "You didn't cancel 5days before your trial ended so have been 'renewed' at full price. (sucker!)"
Monday March 28, 2011 @ 12:46 PM
I signed up for a free 7 day trial,canceled it after 5 days, worthless info,they still billed my credit card,claimed I didn't cancel realty coach,what a scam.

I was just about to sign up when I did a search on Google to check feedback. Thanks guys for taking the time to inform the public. I truly believe we can get rid of the bad businesses if we stick together by informing one another. Consumers such as ONLINESHOPPERS should really keep their comments to themselves. Several people here have clearly stated that they cancelled before the trial period and was still charged. It's clear to see that a worthless company like RT is offering nothing that you can't already get for free. So,they have to resort to unscrupulous tactics to make money. Again, good work guys.
Wednesday April 6, 2011 @ 01:11 PM
You guys are all retarded, Learn how to grow up, be responsible and cancel a 7 day free trial before your 7 days is up! Its free for 7 days and thats it. Dont blame a company for your own stupid mistakes. I have been using realtytrac for years now and have not had 1 bad experience. I have sold numerous homes through them and have gained a lot of clients through them. If your an idiot and cant remember to cancel a 7 day free trial then dont sign up children. Easy as that!

Dont do business with Keller Wms Downtown Realtors in Prescott AZ. They have a male realtor who doesnt even know how to use a computer/mouse and is too busy for his clients.

The properties on RealtyTrac.com are home owners who are late on their mortg payments and home that have been on shiriff sale list (these homes will be on the market for buyers will take many, many months or not at all. Or homes that has been sold and closed long time ago. The reason that no realtor is calling you back is that they sell a zip code to a realtor for a loger fee than to the general public to respond. However, when a realtor is trying to help that buyer with that home they are interested in, it is not available and will not be for a long time.
