Blockbuster Online Sucks

I hate block buster with the white hot intensity of a million suns. I hate their move into the online rental market. F them. I hope the company goes under.

I just signed up for blockbuster online recently to try out their free trial. I had technical difficulties with adding movies to my queue and contacted them through email, I was told I would be contacted shortly but I was never contacted. I found a way to resolve my problem by logging off and logging back in to add items to my queue, I found that the movies I wanted had very long waits. So I decided to cancel my account because I did not know when I would get the movies I want and it would not be worth it. So I canceled my subscription but the thing is I wanted to cancel my entire account with them, and I did not see that option available, so I contacted customer service and this is what I was told:
"The information we have on file for you is kept for accounting purposes and cannot be removed. We value your security and can assure you that all measures have been taken to protect its safety. WTF? I can never remove my information? I don't want them to keep any of my information and, I definitely do not want to have an account with them. They need to be stopped.

I don't know what the hell is going on with Blockbuster but all of a sudden all of the new releases are "On Order" and not shipping on the release as they used to. Hmmm, all of you guys comments have been great and its looking like Adios to Blockbuster and Hello to NetFlix.. tsk tsk

I signed up to try the two week free trial, I can't really complain because nothing too horrible has happened...but the wait is RIDICULOUS. compared to Netflix or anything for that matter. They do have games which is nice, but not when you have to wait 7 months for them to ship! I cancelled my subscription a day before they were suppose to bill me, but since then...they keep sending what was in my queue. Even though I had emptied right before I cancelled. I hope to God they don't charge me. What do you think?

Blockbuster by mail is very slow to pull & ship. sometimes 5 days between discs. I emailed customer service, and received a reply that said 'basically, we ship tues, wed, thur. limited monday service, and friday counts as a weekend day.'no saturday shipping. this is simply not competetive with netflix, which can provide next day arrivals consistently, 6 days a week. if the title you want is listed as 'very long wait' you will never see it, in all honesty, they don't have it. I have never received a title listed as 'long wait'. the catalogue page lists many films that if you try to order them, when you select them to your queue, they show as 'unavailable', so it is obviously not kept up to date. suck, suck, and more suck! the ONLY reason I continue to do business with BB, is they have some out of print stuff netflix doesn't have, as soon as those titles are exhausted, bye bye! I realize that different areas of the country experience different levels of service, but I highly recommend netflix - they are better in every aspect.

They were amazingly quick about sending movies until just the last two weeks. Suddenly my queue isn't updated for three to four days, etc. The online customer service is awful. I can't understand them, and when I asked them to slow their speech, they get insulted. Outsourcing once again - punishing the customers and damaging the economy. They deserve to go bankrupt.

On Monday nights a little after midnight, actually Tuesday now, I walk out my front door and through a gate into a shopping center. I walk a total of 300 feet to a Red box, as soon as it updates about 7 minutes after midnight I rent a new release movie for a $1.20 LOL!
Course thanks to Blockbuster some new releases have a three week delay fbefore Red Box can rent them. I can wait ;o)
I use to rent from Blockbuster's and get free rentals from Coke rewards but the manager of the store started refusing to honor the coke coupons saying they were already used.
More or less they were calling me a cheat, a con.
I wrote to coke, they told me to use a different store, I did and guess what the same thing happened there.
So now I just rent movies from Red Box and watch Blockbuster sink to bankruptcy ;o)

I just tried to cancel my online account. Three separate times, I get to the last screen and it freezes. Can't cancel.
