I agree. And we should let the kids read the Koran in school as well. And allow prayer in school so kids can get out their prayer mats and bow to Mecca.

I like how the assumption that reading the bible, or any type of bible is going to make a "good" person. I can only imagine the amount of lives lost over "my imaginary friend can beat up your imaginary friend."

No problem allowing the bible in school, as long as we allow the Torah and Qumran as well.
Besides that, have you read the bible? The whole thing and not just the good parts that are preached from the pulpit? A horrible book, promoting sexism, racism, homophobia, intolerance, infanticide, genocide, and numerous other atrocities against humanity. Not to mention it is contradicted by every branch of modern science, history, archeology, and so on. Oh, and contradicts itself well over a hundred and fifty times throughout.

If the commandments of the Bible were applied and lived by, it would produce good people. Period. Nothing about the scriptures is intended to produce mean or hate filled people. Nothing.

Reading the bible from beginning to end is the best tool you can give anyone to become an Atheist.
Religion has caused more misery to all of mankind in every stage of human history than any other single idea.

Priests read the bible... and they didle little kids... During the spanish inquisition they read the bible and wiped out a whole civilization... I could go on and on!!!
