Match.com Sucks
I recently paid for a Match.com subscription for six months on sale for $30 bucks. I didn't use it much and pretty much forgot about it until my card was charged after the subscription ended for a full year subscription for $113. Absolutely no warning email was given and support was very rude and unapologetic. I ended up having to issue a charge back through my credit card, which had a special handling procedure for Match since so many people end up having to issue charge backs.
Match.com change your unethical business model and earn your revenue fair!

I was under the impression i was simply paying for a 3 month subscription, and then my card was charged again. Looking back, it does say that it will automatically renew, but it's off on the sidebar in a big block of text. It should be right underneath the payment plans. I have used plenty of other subscription sites and they usually print it right below ($xx.xx amount of dollars for the first three months and then $xx.xx amount recurring after that), printed just like that. That is how it should be, so there's no confusion. Plus, Match doesn't even bother to extend the simple courtesy of sending you an email saying like "your subscription is about to expire" or "your credit card is about to be charged".... No... It is intentional, make no mistake. They are taking advantage of their customers. Real nice. I would like to boycott all websites and tv stations that display ads for match. They shouldn't be doing business with trash like match anyway.

Do you think match.com block most emails sent to you by ideal matches by doing this they keep you on line for longer then send you winks and emails before your subscription ends ive been on and of this site for a feww years but to say im a good lookin guy and send out 1000s of emails i get little response till im due to pay again

All of the dating websites are practically filled with 80% fake profiles now and all have automated software that tricks you into believing someone has messaged you or is interested in you pay for ones and free ones. I know this for certain because I have a friend who owns one of the sites and from my own exp before he told me and warned me to not go on any of them as they are all there witn the intention of tricking money from you. if you are very lucky you may find someone through all the fake that is real who themselves have been tricked, but it is a 1 in a few million chance.

Sorry, it is more like 97% are fake after just speaking with my friend who is now quitting the site because of lack of customers, or should I say suckers!

Honestly, I love Match. I met so many girls on there it made my head spin. I'm cancelling now because I met someone. -and, for fuck sake people, not only do they tell you about the auto billing, but you should expect it. All those types of companies do it. It is their job to get money from you. It is your job not to be stupid.

I received an ad in my email for Match.com. It said 3 months for $59 and if I am not satisfied I can cancel within 3 days of subscribing and will receive a full refund. I subscribed on a Thursday, looked around a bit and decided internet dating is not for me, and canceled the next day. I expected a full refund as stated in their ad, however I recieved an email from them saying my card will be billed for the full 3 month subscription. I strongly recommend staying away from such a shady, low life company. They will get your credit card info and you will be very sorry.

I specifically went through and canceled my account about a month before it was supposed to renew. I edited my profile to say I was closing my account. The day after my account ended, I was still receiving unwanted emails, so I went to check. Not only had they changed my profile to show me as an active member, but they also charged me. I have emailed and called three times with no responses. Finally had to fill a fraud complaint with my credit card.

Plain and simple if its in the terms and conditions they need to make it BIGGER and BOLDER not some tiny font thats 17999884756565 pages long. every company does it. every bank additional fees and everything and they say its in the terms and conditions meanwhile everyone looks at it like who will read a 600 chapter of how this works! ahhhhhh

Not to mention that Match are actually trying to inhibit you from finding a match. If you get a genuine wink or show of interest from a real person they will happily bombard you with fake winks preceding the fake conversation to stop a possible connection... you find someone and they lose your patronage. And when your account finally does expire, expect some more fake winks from some pretty thing that Match are about to sacrifice. So if you really think their billing practice is unethical, their business itself is fraudulent and cruel.

Jeezz. u people were born yesterday seems like. read the fine print. cancell before the subscribtion expire. it's that freaking easy! but no, "oh, i forgot, what do I dooooo?", u were the one who signed (electronically) the agreement, which stated the terms. get over it already.

I'm glad I read these comments. I was going to subscribe to Match.com to attempt to find love but it seems to only bait you into giving them your credit card number and once they got that you're F***ed. I did read the terms and condition about the cancel process but of course when you try to cancel your subscription you find they already have auto charged and they throw out the fake winks from dead profiles to lure you back into their scam. You won't find any matches on that site except the match that burns a hole into your checkbook..so it's better to stay away from it.

Well, I searched for a long time to obtain the cost of a subsription. The only method (until I found this comment site) was to join by providing personal information for the free trial part.

All these jerks saying oh just un subscribe are talking about something they know nothing about I DID UN SUBSCRIBE!! and they STILL charged my account 6 months later after i had long forgotten about them. 6 month increments can go easily un noticed if you are some one who actualy has money in your bank account

Yeh I must have sent about 40 emails/ 80 winks over 10 months and only 2 dates - One of which I got on well with, but then she didnt want to meet up again - she changed her profile, then removed it - Must have worked for Match.com - Ha Ha ! Waste of time.
