How do I use the smilies?

Step One:
Go Here

Step Two:
Click on the smiley you would like to use on the page

Step Three:
Click the button "Copy to Clipboard" (or right click-->copy)

Step Four:
Go to your AIM program and open a new chat window.

Step 5:
From the menu at the top of the chat Window, find "edit" then select "paste" (or press CTRL+V in AIM)

Step 6:
Click send in AIM...You should see the new smiley appear in your IM Window

When I click the smilies the code does not appear in the text box
Click Here and try again!

If that didn't Work...

If your friends don't see the smiley in your IM and they're using AIM 5.0+, have them close the current IM window and open a new one. Now paste the smiley in the IM window and send it to them and they will see it. You may need to do this for each smiley, and this also works on yourself if you are testing them. For some reason after you paste the code once and then close and re-open the IM they will always appear from that point on.

What is the Clipboard? (lol)

When you copy text(/image/file) from a page using the copy and paste feature the information is stored in your RAM. Window's calls this the clipboard. Meaning it places the data in a place to be retrieved at later time. The clipboard can only hold one set of data and is erased when the pc is restarted. When you using the smilies page you use the clipboard to copy the code from my page so you can then gather that code and paste it in your IM Window.

Is there a way for me to permanantly keep those smileys?

Do you make the smilies?

NO. The smilies are created by AOL and is included in the program code. I am not able to add more smilies or make custom smilies. I am simply providing the codes in order for you to use these smilies

I would like to know if there is anyway to get penguin faces like how you have monkeys and stuff...

NO, what you see on my page is the only smilies that I have or know about.

How come I can not change the size or color of the smilies?

AOL has not included this feature with these smilies

Did you try closing your AIM windows and pasting the code again?
Are you using AOL Instant Messenger version 5.0 and Higher?

Try closing the IM windows and pasting it again. It should work then!

NO, not that I know of.

Can you make it so we can use these smilies like the regular AIM smilies?

Can I download the smilies to my computer?
No. It is not possible and never will be possible through my site. E-mails concerning this are filtered out and deleted!

How come when I send the new smilies to my friend they see the regular yellow faces instead of the new ones I paste from the page? (I see the new one, but they see the old one)
Maybe they do not have AIM 5.0 or higher.

Why can't you replace the normal yellow smilies with the new colored smilies?

If you are using aim "right click" on an IM window then select insert-->smiliey on the menu. This will show you.

How do i know if i have 5.0?
In aim use the menu-->Help-->About AOL(R) Instant Messenger (TM)

Whenever I try to copy and paste the smilies, this comes up: "The Paste content is too big by 36 character(s). The limit is 1024 charecters (including markup)." What should I do?
Your selecting too many smilies at once... Just try clicking one smiley on my page then copy the code to your IM window.
